Vern Bartley

Over the past 50 years Vern Bartley has captured photographic images in virtually every segment of life. During that journey he photographed captains of industry, presidents, judges, the working man, hobos, kids, babies, bugs, funerals, weddings, families, aerials and, finally……………rocks and weeds.

Vern’s diverse background and experience has afforded him a unique perspective as he focuses his attention on creating remarkable Black & White and Color fine art photographic images from the Central Oregon High Desert Plateau, the Southwest and the glacial art of melting icebergs in Alaska.

Vern is a long standing member, and past President, of the High Desert Art League. He is the resident artist at the Bend Airport and regularly shows his work in Pacific Northwest galleries, in private, corporate and university collections and can be seen at varying locations during Bend’s First Friday Art Walk events each month.

Vern is proud of his Photographic Masters Degree achievement and is often recognized for his fine art photographic abilities in addition to his coaching, mentoring and teaching skills. He hosts workshops several times a year and is regularly called upon to lecture, critique and judge, often at the highest levels within the photographic industry.

Vern produces a monthly E-letter that features an “Image of the Month” with details of how the image was captured in addition to the post processing details used to create another of his award winning images.
