Barbara Slater is an artist whose works hang in public and private collections through the western states. A member of the Oil Painters of America, the California Art Club and the High Desert Art League. Barbara is represented by a number of galleries in Utah, Oregon, Washington, and California. She is represented locally by Desperado in the Old Mill District in Bend.

Barbara Slater's intimate large format oil paintings are highly sought after for their dramatic compositions, sensation of depth and intensely rich colors.She is an exceptional oil painter with energy and spirit, her palette is rich and succulent, while her brushwork is bold and responsive. She continues her studies into different genres, painting still lives, florals, animals and landscapes. Art is Barbara's breath and passion. "I believe that an artist's final work is a depiction of his or her impressions - emotionally, physically, intellectually, and above all - artistically."

She is also a children's book illustrator, an advertising and graphic artist, and had a 35 year career in education - teaching children how to express themselves though creativity.
